She interrupted me.

“Hold on…”

She reached her hands out and placed them on the sides of my head, resting tenderly below my jaw line.
She was silent for a moment, a look of happy concentration on her face. Her dark eyes squinted ever so slightly, looking deeply into mine.
The first time this happened, she asked me if I’ve ever been with someone and just suddenly forgotten who they are. She said she knew who I was and what we were, but suddenly had a hard time recognizing me mid conversation. She was so banal about it, she thought this was something that happened to everyone.
So we lay there, her smiling at me, looking deep into my eyes, trying to find me again. Complete silence.
“Okay, I’ve got you. Go ahead.”
